One in an ongoing series of nudes and semi-nudes. Total painting time was around 12 hours.

Here, I wanted to convey a sense of warmth, but also sadness. The original sketch had the figure more upright, less relaxed, and without the quiet downturned expression. Painting it this way just felt right.

A couple of early comps (one, two) were the basis for the color scheme, though I may eventually turn them into finished paintings themselves.
